Re: October 2017 Pickups
Can't believe the autographs held up on those Midwest League balls this long. I've had a lot of Midwest balls from long ago with disappearing autographs, including Votto, Pujols, Kinsler among others. I didn't know back then that the minor league balls didn't hold ink well. -

Re: October 2017 Pickups
1959 Roberto "Momen" Clemente bat:
This "Momen" bat is specific to '59 with heavy barrel use, nice 21 on the knob, got a 10. It was at one time paired with a '59 flannel of his and shown in the Smithsonian Baseball Collection's book in one of the collections that was highlighted there.
The early Momen bats are not nearly as common as the later, post-'60 bats of his. There are 9 in the PSA database for this variation, have seen some with condition issues like flaking on the barrel and other finish related issues.

Sweet jersey! Really enjoy seeing game used jersey with dirt and good use. However, when I see jerseys like this, I always wonder, "what happened to the pants?" You would think with this much dirt on the jersey and pants, they would keep them together. Congrats!Regards, Tony

Beautiful Clemente, Ben!
Absolutely gorgeous! (Wish PSA would find a better way than putting stickers on historical, museum pieces).Comment
