A few St. Paddy's Day Reds items.
Original ebay description (sold by strikehound) for the undershirts (unmarked at the time of sale):
Up for your consideration is a grouping of 15 Cincinnati Reds Game Worn Undershirts. These 15 undershirts were worn by players underneath their Baseball Jerseys. The undershirts are from the 1970s.....The Undershirts were made by Rawlings, all have neck tags in them. Sizes include (3) XL and (12) L. Some were washed more than others and show some fading.... If you own one of the scarce and rarely seen St. Patrick's Day Game Worn Jersey, these are a must to complete your uniform attire.
Green batting helmet offered by Mike Darwish:
This is a green Cincinnati Reds helmet that was very lightly used during the late 1970's when the Reds used green uniforms and helmets etc. on St. Patrick's Day from 1977 to 1984. It is an ABC helmet size 7 3/8 and does not have a player number on the helmet.Attached Files"The knowledge that this guy has in his head, some of you would never be able to comprehend."Comment

Re: Post interesting game issued items here
Has anyone ever been told exactly why Ichiro is allowed to have his first name on the back nameplate of his jersey's? Nobody else is allowed to do this as the back should say Suzuki. It seems that MLB is setting a double standard here. I was told that it was done to placate the Japenese ownership of the Mariners as well as the Japense people in general in order to keep their interest high in both Ichiro and baseball here in the states in general.
It must be a foreign thing. Yao Ming has Yao on the back of his jerseys as well and I have never known why.Broncos middle linebacker.....Joe Mays!sigpic
Collecting - Tyrone Braxton (Broncos 87-93 Dolphins 94 Broncos 95-99), Phil Hansen (Bills 91-01), Steve Nelson (Patriots 74-87), Stacy Robinson (Giants 85-90), Kevin Donnalley (Patriots 1981), Lamar Gordon (Rams 02-03, Dolphins 04, Eagles 05, Lions 06), Jared Peck (Falcons 2004), Craig Dahl (Giants 2007-08, Rams 2009-10), Joe Mays (Eagles 2008-09, Broncos 2010), & Dick Hanson (Giants 1971) among others.

Re: Post interesting game issued items here
Yao is his last name. Ming is his first name.
rudy.
I believe this is incorrect.
His name is in fact Yao Ming. However, in China, as is in several if not all Asian countries, the last name is first and the first name is last. In China, he would be referred to as Ming Yao (his first name is last). His Chinese National jersey is printed in the same format as his NBA jersey. Essentially, his first name is on the back of his jersey because in Asian format, it appears where a last name normally would.Comment

"My name is Yao Ming....Yao is my family name... My first name, Ming, means "light."..My last name, Yao, doesn't mean anything in itself. It's just a last name, like Jones."
he'd appreciate you clearing it up for him.
