Hey Folks!
I kindly ask for your expertise in order to properly evaluate a Robert Newhouse jersey, that is being advertised as game used.
I found the jersey on this Craigslist posting; http://ventura.craigslist.org/spo/4088177490.html
I'll try to post pictures of the Newhouse jersey but if i cannot, they are shown here; http://s1053.photobucket.com/user/Meno_Galvan/library/
Robert Newhouse retired in in 1983.
As I have learned, numbers on Cowboy jerseys of that era are relatively thin, as compared to the numbers on the Cowboy jerseys from 1986 and forward.
The numbers on the Newhouse jersey look to be on the thicker side, rather than the thinner side.
Robert Newhouse was only 5'10". The jersey listed for sale is tagged as a size 52. Randy White wore a size 52, so I have a hard time seeing Newhouse in a jersey that large.
Lastly, on the front on the jersey, where the "V" neck comes to a point, it looks as if an NFL shield was once present, which would suggest the jersey was made at or after '91.
The seller said the odd shape at the "V" point is a game repair.
The seller did not respond to the thickness of the numbers, nor did he respond to the the tagging issue (size 52).
I could not find any examples of a game worn jersey from previous auctions but saw that Dorsett wore a size 46.
What do you all think?
