Kris Bryant's game hit/used #5 Home Run ball vs. Padres on May 21st. Russell, who works for MLB authentication in SD, and a fellow GUU member, rounded this one up for me.

Was the ball authenticated? Unfortunately, if not, it would be more of a keepsake than a collectible.

I meant MLB authentication as in the form of a hologram that can be viewed on the MLB.com database? Not just a paper or word of mouth authentication.

If it has provenance, video, photo of person catching it, etc...It is still acceptable. Does the arod 3,000 hit ball have no value because it lacks MLb Hologram...,

Not to split hairs here but the Arod 3000 hit baseball does have an MLB Hologram.

A Rod's 3,000 hit ball is mlb authenticated.

MLB authentication is nice, but not something needed or else it is worthless. Didn't that Babe Ruth ball sell for a boatload of money with little to no real authentication?

Even a LOA from the Padres would be pretty good for a lot of people. It may scare off some people, but realistically I don't think it devalues the ball.

And for the record some homerun balls with an MLB Holo aren't actually seen being collected by the authenticator. Some are presented by an employee and considered good.
