I don't have a Mattingly, but I've got nice George Foster, Dawson, Kirby Puckett and some others with scored or shaved handles. I dig the way it looks on colored bats, really cool trait.

Not sure when this picture was taken (he looks pretty young), but he did this a lot in 1995 with black T141s.

Yeah, my 84-85 has a scored handle. Also, that pic is from 1995. The Ironclad bat auctioned last year (that went for $3000+) had a scored handle like that black one.
