What do the etched in letters on the knobs of some LSV's mean?
Does any one know? Any help would be great. Thanks again

Re: What do the etched in letters on the knobs of some LSV's mean?
For Professional Model bats (pre 1976) the "etchings" on the knob are model #'s (i.e. M110, P72, O16, etc.). From 1976 present, these same model #'s can now be found on the bat barell. For non-professional bats, the knob etchings are the initials of the player who endorsed the bat and the number indicates the last digit of the length (i.e. MM3 would be a Mickey Mantle bat 33" in length).

Anyone else have any clue asking on a few bats I have seen from 2007. There is just a letter etched into the knob.

A 2007 bat with anything etched into the knob is either a replica/show bat or a retail bat.

We have been doing some testing of different things this past season. So you might see a "M", "T", or "S" stamped into the knobs. Those bats were given to players to use and evaluate.
Retail or souvenir bats will have a number on the knob. Test bats generally have a letter. Hopefully we can confuse people a little more
