83-88 Worth Bat Knob Stamping
I am looking at the knob of a Worth bat from 83-88 and I am seeing something that I have not seen before, could anyone please confirm if they have seen this anomaly before? Did they take an already made 35" and shave it down and re-stamp it?

I have to say that I am disappointed with the responses, this community used to be a wealth of knowledge that continues to dissipate. I can't believe that I am the first person to have ever seen this anomaly, or modification.

Re: 83-88 Worth Bat Knob Stamping
This is indirectly related to your situation. I have the Fred McGriff bat listed in this auction, http://sports.mearsonlineauctions.co...ntoryid=106436, where the initials of him were not stamped on the knob area like you would normally see. Also, if you look at my bat, where it says "Fred McGriff Model" it was stamped twice/funny, which reminds me of your type of issue. It may be that Worth had issues when making their bats.
Who was the player that had your issue?

Just a mis-stamp at the factory. Nothing major.
