The MDW20 is the model number of the bat. The M stands for Maple, the DW20 is the model number of the bat. I think that is a reference to Dave Winfield model. Is the bat you have a Bernie Williams bat?

Alcs 2004 stamped on the knob would make the bat a playoff bat.

I think this is in reference to the Alex Rodriguez Rawlins 2004 ALCS bat on eBay right now:

Story sounds nice, but I couldn't find any pics of him swinging a Rawlings in a game during the 2004 ALCS.

Thanks,

yes i am researching on this bat. i ask the guy selling the bat to photograph the barrell closeup for ball marks with no reply... which makes me suspicious. are these bats only avaliable to players or can any average joe order them. at the least im thinking its a issued bat. all knowledge is appreciated

Arod Rawlings bat

Joel,

Only players are issued these Rawlings pro model bats with stamped knob. I have the DVD set of the 2004 ALCS and Arod is using a black LVS during the 7 game series. This bat was most likely sent to Arod from Rawlings for use in the 2004 ALCS and saw no game use, it may have been used is BP. My guess is that Arod had these bats from 2004 and brought them for use during the 2005 spring training, the ebay seller notes that the bat was acquired from spring training. Arod is know to use blonde bats for BP. I did see photos of Arod using a blonde Old Hickory bat during the 2003 season with the Rangers and in 2004 with the Yankees.
