I'm really surprised that this jersey went for $4,222.72. I fortunately emailed Lon Lewis before the bidding got crazy. He had many concerns with the jersey. Here was his response:

Fingers was ordered a size 42 from '72-6 I looked at the ebay listing and there's a couple of things about that jersey that should be noted. First the tags themselves are almost shot but the jersey body and lettering are almost new. There is none of the sleeve puckering normally found on a used jersey of the A's And finally that jersey should have the blue bordered mfr tag not the other way around. Finally, Mark W. had plenty of bogus jerseys in his collection.
