    Michael Young considering retirement?

I read that Michael Young was considering retiring. Surely being just 125 hits away from 2500 he wouldn't would he?

If he were 125 away from 3000, he might reconsider, but 2500, while nothing to sneeze at, it isn't a milestone that will get him any closer to the HOF for example. Consummate hitter...hope he plays some more.

+1. He's a bench player now, something he doesn't want to be. 2,500 isn't a huge milestone either. Nothing that will keep him away from the HOF.

But to be one of 96 (if he gets 2500 hits) in over 100 years of MLB would be pretty cool.
I do understand he doesn't want to be a bench player and he really has nothing else to prove.

Retired as a Ranger at the the Rangers Ballpark press conference. I'm glad the Rangers showed class in asking him back after some hard feelings and everyone seems to over it. A class player and he went out the right way.
