    Bob McNair, the man who founded and was owner of the Houston Texans, died Friday at age 81, after battling multiple health issues for over 2 years.

    Willie Naulls, a black NBA pioneer on the playing level, died at age 84.

    Naulls was the first black player to become captain of the New York Knicks, where he spent most his career. However, at the end of his career, he spent 3 seasons with the Celtics and, led by Bill Russell, won an NBA title in all 3.

    Fred Caligiuri, a RHP for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1941-42, died 11/30 at age 100.

    Venezuelan MLB players Luis Valbuena and Jose Castillo were both killed in an auto accident in their home country on 12/6.

    Valbuena was 33 and played for 11 seasons, including the recently completed one, in MLB. Over his career he played for 5 teams, most notably 3 years in Cleveland and 3 with the Cubs.

    Castillo was 37, and played in MLB from 2004-08. His first 4 years were with Pittsburgh, and his final year was split between the Giants and the Astros.

    Unhappy Isiah Robertson death

    The lomgtime NFL LB was killed in an auto accident, passing away on 12/6.

    Robertson was named on 2 All-Pro squads and played for the NFC in 6 Pro Bowls. He played for the Rams from 1971-78, then spent the next four years wearing Buffalo blue before retiring.

    Tim Rossovich, a football player at USC and in both the NFL and WFL, died 12/6 at age 72. A long illness was the cause.

    Rossovich began his pro career with the Eagles from 1968-71. He then spent 1972-73 with the Chargers,then played in the WFL with the Philadelphia Bell, and hung 'em up after playing in 1976 with the Oilers.

    While with the Trojans Rossovich played in 2 Rose Bowls and was a member of a NCAA Championship team.

    Unhappy Dirty Al Gallagher obituary

    Gallagher, nicknamed "Dirty Al" died on 12/6 at age 73.

    The 3B who succeded Jim Davenport with the Giants, he spent 4 years with the team in Candlestick, and, after a brief stint with them, he was dealt to the Angels to finish his final season in The Show. He was a member of the 1971 NL West Champion Giants.

    Bobby Trevino, a native of Mexico who played all 3 OF positions in 17 games for the 1968 Angels, died on 12/5. He was 73.
