    Val Heim, a late-season call-up for the White Sox in 1942, died 11/21. The former outfielder was 99.

    Will Brunson, a LHP for parts of 2 seasons in the Bigs, died on 11/23 at age 49.

    Brunson came up to the Majors in 1998 with the Dodgers, only to be dealt to the Tigers after appearing on the mound in Dodger blue only twice. He also pitched for Detroit for part of 1999.

    Pat Sullivan, a QB from Auburn who was the Heisman Trophy winner in 1971, died in his sleep on 11/30 at age 69.

    After college, Sullivan played for five seasons in the NFL: Atlanta (1972-75) and Washington (1976).

    George Atkinson, a former RB at Notre Dame, died over the weekend at age 27. No cause of death was immediately, but a media report indicated that Atkinson was suffering from depression after his brother died earlier this year.

    He served as a punt returner in 2014 (Raiders) and 2016 (Browns). His father is George Atkinson, a DB and KR/PR specialist for Oakland (1968-77) and Denver (1979)

    Fred Cox, a longtime kicker who played for the Vikings his entire career (1963-77), died on 11/20 at age 80.

    Cox was both the kicker and the punter for the Vikings in his rookie season. While his NFL career didn't begin until '63, he was drafted by both leagues in 1961 (NFL Cleveland Browns and AFL New York Titans).

    Frank Estrada, a native of Mexico who appeared in 1 game for the Mets in 971, died on 12/9 at age 71.

    His sole appearance was on 9/14/71, where he had a single in 2AB.

    Weldon Bowlin, a 3B for 2 games with the 1967 KC A's, died on 12/8, just 2 days before his 79th birthday.

    For his brief carrer, he had a single in 5 at bats.

    Ted Lepcio, an infielder who spent most of his 10-year MLB career with the Red Sox, died on 12/11 at age 90.

    He first appeared in an MLB game on 4/15/52, and remained with the Bosox until very early in the 1959 season, whereupon he was dealt to the Tigers. He spen all of the 1960 season with the Phillies, and split his final year (1961) between the White Sox and Twins.

    Rich Rundles, a LHP who appeared in 8 games for Cleveland in 2008 and one more in 2009, died on 12/16 at age 38.
