    Former major-league outfielder Clyde Mashore, died over the weekend at age 70. Mashore played in five MLB seasons for both the Reds & Expos.

    Walt Williams, who played in 10 seasons from 1964-75 with the White Sox, Yankees, Indians, and Colt 45's, died January 23rd at the age of 72. Williams had 640 hits and 173 RBI's during his MLB career.

    Ron Stillwell, who played 14 games for the Washington Senators in 1961-62 and went on to be a successful college baseball coach, died on January 25 at the age of 76. His son Kurt played 998 games in the majors from 1986-96.

    Ramon Ramirez, an infielder in the Orioles system who made it as far as High A ball, died at age 23 last Saturday in the Domincan Republic, the results of a motorcycle accident.

    John "Jack" Riley, the coach of the 1960 USA Gold Medal hockey team at Squaw Valley, CA, died Wednesday at age 95. His squad was the frist ever American team to capture the hockey gold medal.

    Bernie Stowe, longtime equipment man for the Cincinnati Reds, died on 2/9 at age 80.

    His career in the Reds' clubhouse was long and legendary. He retired in 2014 in a team career that went all the way back to 1947, when he was the Opening Day batboy.

    Kerry Dineen, an OF with cups of coffee with the Yankees in 1975-76 and the Phillies in 1978, died 11/21/15 at age 63.

    Johnny Lattner, a 1953 Heisman Trophy Winner and former Pittsburgh Steelers player and Pro Bowler in 1954, died February 12th at the age of 83. Lattner entered the United States Air Force for two years following his year in Pittsburgh and suffered a football career ending knee injury while there. Lattner was inducted into the College Football HOF in 1979.

    Virgil Jester, a 1952-53 Boston/Milwaukee Braves pitcher, died on February 15th at the age of 88. Jester was 3-5 with a 3.84 ERA in 21 games pitched.

    Tony Phillips, who played 18 years in the Majors from 1982-1999, died February 19th at the age of 56. Phillips played for the A's, Tigers, Angels, White Sox, Blue Jays, and Mets. Although never an All-Star, he had 2023 hits and was on the 1989 Oakland A's World Series Champions team.
