All good things must come to an end:

The Boston Red Sox streaks of consecutive sellouts at Fenway Park ended Wednesday night. Their regular season record was 794 straight sellouts; their record, including postseason games, was cut off at 820. The streaks began May 15, 2003.

Edwin Jackson and Michael Bowden combined to throw 5 wild pitches in one inning during Sunday's Cubs loss to the Giants (Jackson:2; Bowden:3) It tied a major league record for wild pitches, one team, one inning.

The Good, the Good and the Ugly:

Long live King Felix! Hernandez nabs his 100th career win in a 7-1 drubbing of the Astros by Seattle.

The Los Angeles Clippers' Monday night 93-91 win over Memphis gave the Clippers a 2-0 lead in a playoff series for only the second time in franchise history (the first: vs. Denver in 2006).

The Cubs have had 8 save opportunities so far this season. Five have been blown...by 5 different pitchers.

Between Monday and Tuesda night's games, the Reds committed as many errors (5) as they had from the beginning of the season to that point. (Source: Len Kasper, WGN-TV Cubs play-by-play).

In Tuesday evening's Braves game, brothers BJ and Justin Upton hit back-to-back home runs, becoming the second set of brothers to ever do that. The first: Lloyd and Paul Waner of the Pirates, 9/15/38.

In the incredible 142-134 triple OT Bulls victory over the Nets on Saturday...

    a) The Bulls set a record for scoring in a playoff game for the team's history.

    b) Brook Lopez made a 3-point field goal....something he had not done in the entire regular season nor the previous games in the series.

    c) Nate Robinson tied an NBA record held by Lebron James with 29 points in a playoff game in the 4th quarter and overtimes.

When the Spurs eliminated the Lakers last night with a sweep of thier 1st round playoff series, it marked only the 2nd time in Lakers team history that they were swept in a 1st round playoff series (the first, by the San Francisco Warriors in 1967).

Stephen Curry of Golden State came back to earth a bit in last night's loss to Denver, hitting only one three-pointer. In the first four games of the series, he set an NBA record with 14 treys in his first four NBA postseason games.

Cubs reliever Jeff Russell became the first Cub bullpen hurler since 1969 (Ted Abernathy) to go the entire months of April and pitch a minimum of 11 innings without being charged with a run surrendered.
