Have no idea on value, but if you're interested in moving it (sell or trade) I would be interested as I am moving away from Modern and going more Vintage in my basement...

I'll look around and see what I can find out though.

    All the best -

Re: Old King Cole Paper Mache - Baseball - Info?

I found out this interesting bit of history on 'Rev-O-Noc':

"Rev-O-Noc" was a trademark of the Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett Harware Co. of Chicago. HSB was founded early in the 19th century and was a major supplier of tools, guns, knives and other hardware items. Charles Conover joined the firm at the turn of the century and the Rev-O-Noc brand was born (Conover spelled backwards). Rev-O-Noc was a trademark on items from bicycles to kitchen stoves and also sporting goods. HSB continued on till 1962 when it was bought out and the name changed to "True Value" Hardware. Sound familiar? There is one in my town.
And found a few gloves, bats and catcher's masks from them in the $150 - $250 range...

Possibly a little earlier than your baseball guy, but apparently King Cole made the first 'Nipper' Papier Mache advertising pieces for RCA Victor back in the 1800's:

Many of the Nippers were made in Canton, Ohio USA by the Old King Cole Company. They manufactured all types of paper mache advertising items. This company produced the first Nippers as early as 1915.
Reference to an old Disney Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs - and another Nipper reference:

It turns out that the set is actually a department store display piece manufactured under license from Disney by the Old King Cole Papier-Mâché Company of Canton, Ohio. The company—perhaps best-known for its papier-mâché figures of Nipper, the RCA dog listening to "His Master's Voice" on an RCA Victrola—was licensed by Disney to create window and interior displays using Disney characters, primarily for department stores, from 1935 to 1942.
So, apparently displays was King Cole's business.

Two Nippers have sold on eBay for $303 and $400 and a 'Sandy' display (Little Orphan Annie's Dog) is currently offered starting at $19.99...

I've found LOTS of Nippers, another reference to the Disney stuff, Mr Peanut (Planter's) and various other animals and figures...

Going to research Rev-O-Noc more now...
