Willis Reed championship item found !

Just received this shorts from the son of a famous hall of famer italian basketball coach.
I was told his father went to New York in 1970 for the NBA finals with the basketball scoutmen Richard Percudani and received this shorts as “souvenir” from the Knicks locker room. Arrived in Italy he showed the trunks to the players asking Sauro Bufalini (Hall of Famer italian basketball player) to wear the trunks. He was one of the “biggest” player at that time but the trunks falled down on his knees because of the giant size.
This the story … any thoughts ?

I would think there would be inseam measurement tag..the Cosby tags look rather worn as compared to the Reed tag....

I opened today the box in the cave of the coach house ....
The name Reed is sewn on a solid felt panel

the short are very heavy and the fabric is incredible, i'll post tomorrow a pic of the name without camera flash

to compare the size with a Kim Hughes (italian days) shorts

the short is from the 1960s so yours is later period so the lining is different color and the size went up from 38 to 40. so not the best thing to compare it to.
