Ruth experts: recommendation needed.
I'm kind of a sports book fanatic. I'm constantly reading sports-related hitories and biographies of teams and individual players. However, my preference up to now has been for books about the NFL.
Lately, though, I've decided I'd like to read up on Babe Ruth. Arguably the most colorful sports personality of the 20th century, my knowledge of the man is sorely lacking and I aim to remedy that. The only trouble is that there are literally hundreds of books about the Babe so I need a recommendation on what would be the definitive all-encompassing look at the man's career and his off-the-field life as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be a 1,000-page tome with every single stat recounted in painstaking detail, just a comprehensive overview of the man himself.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Rick

Robert Creamer's book, Babe: The Legend Comes to Life, is THE Babe Ruth book.
