Back to my Manny Ramirez GU BAT?

So I am back to this Manny Ramirez Game Used / Signed bat with the MR24 Hologram and LOA signed by Manny himself....

After speaking to someone at the auction site that had some identical Manny "gamers" sold in 2004 and 2005 as well as looking through 1000's of old Google search items, I am back to trying to find out if this really was a bat used by Manny or is it a complete fake?

The signature is without question 100% real, but what about everything else? I know it is not pounded like most Manny's, and has not tape or remanants of a tape job, but does has a light/medium application of pine tar and shows light to moderate use.

If there are any Manny Experts out there...please chime in for me. It was the first ever piece of "game used" memorabilia I bought and it is still with me as I have never gotten a consensus on whether it is real, fake or a BP bat ordered and used by Manny specifically for his website sales.

I have PM BMH to see if he has any ordering info about it, but am not sure if the message got through...so BMH if you see this, and have the time, could you either email me directly or just respond to this post?

I have also included a photo from an American Memorabilia Auction in 2004-2005 that is the same bat, but has the ASI hologram....they sold these bats with either the ASI holo/LOA or the MR24 holo/LOA...pic may not come up, it may be a web address instead FYI

This is why this site is the BEST for ANY and ALL collectors in the sports world...it is amazing what you can learn from here and the community it has created is second to none!

    Thanks everyone!

Can you try reposting the pics? They aren't showing up, at least for me.

I keep running into this problem with my pics.

I will email them to you, and can you try to post them....not sure if it is my computer in general?

    I think it is...

From my experience with Manny bats, there is far too little pine tar to show any sustained use. The number on the knob does not look like others I have (these are often pretty consistent). The wood/finish looks less than wonderful. However, Manny certainly used M9 S318's quite a bit, so it is highly likely this is a GU Manny bat since that definition includes use in cages and BP.

Also, you should make sure it is a 34 inch bat weighing roughly 32 ozs.

If I recall correctly, these bats were listed on Manny's website about a month or two after the 2003 season. They had like 1 or 2 ballmarks on the back of the barrel and that was it. Similar to the jerseys posted on the site, I don't have too much confidence in the bat actually finding the field, but its still a nice bat with a full Manny signature.

    GAMER35,

You are corrct...they did appear on his site being sold for his charity, but I got this one from ASI...which is still not the "best" source out there...but at the time they were the darlings of the GU martket.
