Re: any ideas on who this is?
Jeremy Giambi wore #7 during his time with the A's from 2000 to May 2002. While Frank Menechino might have worn #7 during Spring Training in 2000, he always wore #11 during the regular season.
Getting back to the bat, I still can't figure out whose signature that is but it is possible that one of the #7's on the list borrowed the bat from the mystery player.

Re: any ideas on who this is?
I can tell everyone without a doubt that it is not Menechino. I have dozens of his autograph. I am starting to think that maybe it was borrowed and used by mini G. I was hoping maybe someone here recognized the signature.

Re: any ideas on who this is?
The person had to have a contract with LVS since the name is not in block letters. The center brand should be 1999-2001.
i go to http://www.baseball-reference.com/
I look up on the team tab and look for Oakland links for 1999 and 2001.
I copy the players who had at least 1 ab on a spreadsheet for those three years
I remove all duplicate names. (create a column, scan put an X on duplicate names, sort and delete 1 minute max)
So here are the suspects:

Re: any ideas on who this is?
My next step would be to scan the list and see if any of the names looks like the name on the bat and then go to ebay and compare autograph for those players. If it's not a match I put a NO on a new VERIFIED column on the spreadsheet and go to the next suspect. If there are no sigs on ebay to compare then I google the name and use the photo link looking for signed baseballs and photos.
Good luck on the mystery. This is my process for looking up names on Team signed baseballs.

Re: any ideas on who this is?
I certainly appreciate all that work and effort Joel. None of those names seem to coincide with even a hint of that signature though. Must be someone under contract with LVS that never made the show. hmmmmm

Re: any ideas on who this is?
Could it possibly be Ramon Castro? He was with the As for a bit...

Re: any ideas on who this is?
If its not someone on the list, instead of someone who never made the show, maybe a veteran who signed a minor contract and did not return to the majors is a possiblilty.
If you want to go in that direction then look up the AAA affiliate of the A's from 1999-2001 and see if there are any ML vets on the team.Regards,

Re: any ideas on who this is?
Just to add to all of this.
If you pay close attention the First initial of the First name is either a N or an R.
The last letter of the last name is either a C or possibly a D.
I would first research either whose names match that spelling during the time period of the labeling period of the bat or see who wore #7 during that time period and then research what teamates that player had during the time period.
Chances are your going to have to go over full rosters and even spring training rosters. Last minute call ups and so on.

Re: any ideas on who this is?
Alot of times the printed signatures on bats do not look like the player's actual autograph, which is another factor to consider.
