    Manny Ramirez bat question

Can anyone tell me if Manny ever used a Nokona bat during the 2006 or 2007 seasons? I just purchased a bat with a PSA DNA coa that says it was used by Manny. The auction said it was game used, and with the coa, I thought it was a safe buy.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Is it the Nokona with the Dominican flag and some tape near the knob that was for sale from the seller dolphinboy on ebay?

BTW this would be a good question for Bobby, the resident Manny expert, to answer.

No, it's not the dolphinboy bat, it is this bat.

Yes I did. I thought with a PSA DNA coa it which had John Taubes name on it would be a safe bet.

I paid with Paypal so I do have some recourse if it turns out to be not used by Manny.

    Re: Manny Ramirez bat question

I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert on Manny bats, so don't take my word as law. But I saw this when it was on ebay and it just didn't look right to me (in terms of characteristics). Just because an item has PSA authentication doesn't mean it's always legit. It is usually better than no authentication, but you also have to do research on your own, that's the best "authentication" you can get. That's why it's usually a good idea to consult player experts and others for opinions before you buy a bat.

Be sure to verify the PSA/DNA Cert number as well

    Re: Manny Ramirez bat question

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Mike, I did crosscheck the cert number before I bought the bat. The site had a good description and a nice closeup of the barrel on the site. The cert and bat matches up well.

I felt comfortable purchasing it because of what I had read here about John Taube and his expertise. But why I am asking now is because I have read that Manny never used Nokona in a game on some other threads here. I guess I am just getting mixed signals and am trying to clarify them so I can be more comfortable with my purchase.

Definitely not game used by Manny in a game as he never used Nokonas in a game with the Red Sox.
