    Ted Williams bat orders

Did Ted Williams order 34.5” 34 ounce bats in 1960? Additionally, if he had, the length would NOT be on the end of the knob, correct?

    Re: Ted Williams bat orders

BagBig - let me answer your second question first. The weight would not be indicated on the knob. The model number he ordered would be stamped into the knob. It is possible that an ounce indicator may have been penned on to the knob on his bats, but not engraved.

In 1960, Williams did not order any bat less than 35" in length. There are 9 orders and all except two orders were for 35" bats that were 31 or 32 ounces.

There is one order on March 2, 1960 for three 35", 35 ounce W183 model bats.

There is one order on August 31, 1960 for six 36", 35 ounce U1 model bats.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Thanks, Jim
