Need picture of Larry Bird wearing these..

Supposed Larry Bird used shoes during his last season 1991-92. It looks like they're dated 5-15-92. Anyway, I found pictures of him using this style of shoe but they didn't have any green on them. Come on picture experts-help me out. Thanks,

Note-all the photos show Larry in a home white uniform. Likewise, the shoes in the photos have white inserts. Is it possible that he wore these on the road with the green jerseys?

The Detroit Tigers used to have white trimmed shoes at home and orange trimmed for the road. Could the Celtics have had a similar foot wear policy? Similar, The Portland Trail Blazers wore white shoes at home, red shoes on the road (to match their red jerseys).

Locate a photo of Bird on the road, and you may be able to put closure to this.

I looked at quite a few Bird pics and can only find these style 'verse with the white star & chevron, along with the white 33 and white lettering on back.

Maybe Ken Griffey Jr. colored them in...making them even more valuable!

Could be Howard. I'll keep searching-BUT-like everybody else on here, I've only been able to find the Black and white with NO green.

clearly, something caused GFC to attribute those shoes to bird and to those specific years. why not just ask them for that 'something'?

King Jammy-that's a picture of Lelands selling a pair that were never used by Bird. I'm not saying Grey Flannel is selling bad shoes. I just want to find a picture to verify that he ACTUALLY wore that style. The auction hasn't opened yet, so I'm waiting for it to open so I can see what they have to say about them. In the meantime, keep searching boys. Thanks for the help.

seem's to me if the date on the shoe is correct! it was worn during the eastern conference semi-finals one of his last games! so there should be some kind of image in the boston papers. i check the news sites for a picture. everyone knew he was retiring after the season. which for him was his retirement date as a celtic 5-17-92.

the GFC description for the shoes reads:
5/15/92 Larry Bird Boston Celtics Playoff-Used & Autographed Sneakers
"The shoes are also dated in silver marker "5-15-92," which was the date of Game Six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Celtics and the Cavaliers in Boston."

look at the tongue. the GFC shoes have "CON" (not "CONS") written in green. the getty image shows bird wearing shoes with "CONS" and it's written in white. GFC is saying that bird wore different shoes in Game 6 than he did in Game 3.

I'm a little leery of these shoes. I found a photo of him playing the Cav's and they were white, not green. BUT, maybe somebody will have better luck finding a match. I wouldn't touch them without a photo match. That's just how I am with Grey Flannel.

So, I guess no photo exists of these shoes that Larry wore in the last game of his career? Auction ends Saturday. I emailed them to tell me what size they were and they said it doesn't say. Well, at least measure them! Bird wore a size 13.5. Isnt' that as important as knowing what size bat a player used? So, I'm leaning towards these shoes and the Bird warmup jacket as no good (see thread on Bird warmup jacket). Sad.
