I have no clue how to put a value on Super Bowl rings. While I feel bad for Tyrone Braxton that he had to pawn his 1997 Super Bowl ring, it is for sale on Ebay. I have NO CLUE what it would be worth. here's a link to it:

I think the going market price for a player's Super Bowl ring would be over $10,000. Player Super Bowl and World Series rings are by far the most coveted sports jewelry. Football players rarely give up their Super Bowl rings, which is why they are rare on the market.

Beyond provenance, World Series and Super Bowl rings can be authenticated as they have genuine diamonds, gold, etc. The salesman samples, etc have faux diamonds and probably faux gold or silver. If you don't know how to identify precious metal and diamonds, you can take a Super Bowl ring to your local jeweler who can tell you if the diamonds are real.
