As long as i have collected game used i have never bought a jersey until now.As a Manny Ramirez collector i was always a bit sour on his Sox jersey's as there are SO many.I was lucky enough to have this offered to me from his Indians days.It is a 1995 BP jersey that has tons of use and may have been used all year as this was before the time Manny figured out he could cash in on his stuff.Anyhow i'd like to send it somewhere for authentication but don't know where.Anyone?

jon,

congrats, nice piece. i'm not sure why you want to have it authenticated?for your own benefit or to increase the sales price or?

judging simply from the photos, i can't see anything wrong with it. looks like a nice jersey.

other than mears, i don't know any other authenticators who'd fit the bill.

i agree with rudy. i don't see why you really want an authenticator. just an fyi, i have see other cleveland indian gamers from the team store and from that period, stamped, like it is on the tagging. nice pickup!

jon,

the manufacturer is correct, the style is correct for the year, the material appears correct, the tagging could be considered correct (consider that your russell tag is from 1992 specifically. the version that appeared after this 1992 style lasted from 1993-1995. i'd feel more comfortable with 1993-95 style tagging but it's not overly concerning. given the '95' strip tag, it appears to be a russell carryover, as opposed to a team carryover.) the lack of a nob is correct, the tag in the collar is correct, the numbers on the back are correct. the wear looks consistent. fortunately, ramirez was the only player to wear #24 in 1995.

the only thing left for you to suss out is the size. i have no idea if 50 is correct or not. ramirez collectors would have more insight. try to round up as many 1995 and 1996 ramirez gamers and see if you can see a consistent size.

here is a 1998 ramirez gamer from lelands that's a 48:

ami had a 1998 ramirez gamer that was also a 48:

1998 ramirez bp - size 50:

1998 ramirez gamer - size 48

1999 ramirez bp - size 46 (!)

interestingly enough, while looking at photos of the 1995 indians on getty, i saw a picture with orel hershiser and dennis martinez, both wearing the same style BP jersey however martinez's was russell and hershiser's was majestic. crazy!

I've got a Game worn 2000 Manny jersey if interested. It comes with a detailed Letter from Cleveland Indians Charities. Not one of those generic coa's they use nowadays.

You mean like the shirt here with an Indians LOA? I would take the LOA with a grain of salt as there is no way of confirming that the LOA pertains to the shirt. Notice that this supposed "game worn" in 2000 but fails to have the MLB patch on the back of the shirt. In addition, the spacing on the NOB is totally off as is the lettering.

I have an away Manny 2000 game used Indians jersey that I was able to photomatch that does not have the 'Purchased by the Cleveland Indians stamp," but is definitely photomatched so I dont know how much stock to put in the stamp. The shirt is hammered, was definitely used for the majority of the season unlike his Red Sox shirts.
