While watching the Yankees-Mets game tonight, they showed a close-up of Carlos Beltran and he was wearing Shawn Green's helmet. Is this common? I've never seen any player wear someone else's helmet before. Also, just for added interest, Mike Meyers was using A-Rod's bat when he was at the plate yesterday. They were talking about it on ESPN and showed a close-up of the bat he was using and it clearly showed him using A-Rod's signature model bat.

As far as the helmet goes maybe Beltran couldnt find his helmet and Green's is the same size so he wore it. Maybe Beltran found a crack in his helmet and he grabbed one that fit. Ive seen it happen before. Myers is a reliever and almost NEVER hits because he's a lefty specialist for the most part. Those guys dont order bats with thier names on them so in this case Myers would find a model thats comfortable and ask the player to if they can use it. Ive heard players ask AROD if they could use his bats in the past and he always said yes but reminds them to watch the bat closely so nobody steals it and if and when it cracks to give it back to him. Hence a game used AROD bat but in this case a Mike Myers game used AROD bat. Collecting at its finest! Yawn.
