Ever since the Saints we one of the huge stories of the 2006 NFL season, their presence on the game used scene has exploded.

One thing that's surprising is, these are big name stars getting out on the open market and the pieces don't come with team LOAs or NFL auction LOAs

Currently Vintage Authentics has for sale
2006 Reggie Bush rookie game used jersey
2006 Drew Brees game used jersey

American Memorabilia is offering
2006 Charles Grant Game-Worn Saints Jersey & Game-Worn Shoes
2006 Scott Fujita Game-Worn Saints Jersey
2006 Drew Brees Game-Worn, Signed Saints Jersey "Game Used 2006 Season"
2006 Hollis Thomas Game-Worn Saints Jersey
2006 Mike Karney Game-Worn, Signed Saints Jersey "2006 Game Used"
2006 Will Smith Game-Worn, Signed Saints Jersey "2006 Season Go Saints!!" & Game-Worn Shoes
2006 Drew Brees Game-Worn Saints Shoes
Marques Colston Game-Worn Saints Cleats & Gloves
Charles Grant Game-Worn Saints Shoes
2006 Deuce McAllister Game-Worn, Signed Saints Cleats & Gloves

There was also a 2006 Reggie Bush jersey sold on ebay this week by a forum member

and a 2006 Marques Colston game used jersey

Teams love to make merchandising money any way they can- that's a good draw for them. That's why you see teams re-design uniforms and offer alternate uniforms. It's also why teams have gotten involved in recent years in selling their own game used items.

I would think they can't be happy to see all of these items on the secondary market without getting a piece of the pie for themselves.

It's one thing for these items to sneak out the clubhouse from a team source, but there is so much so quickly. If they're real, the team cannot be please and if they're fake (we saw a Reggie Bush jersey signed and dated to a game versus the Giants which had incorrect tagging) then it diminished the value of the real stuff.
Thoughts?
