Goldin Auctions' 2019 Spring Premium Auction will openfor bidding Sunday, April 14th at 8:00 PM Eastern for an approximately threehour window for Game Used Universe members. At the end of that time window,Goldin will be sending an email to the rest of their database. In addition, Goldin will be offering thefollowing exclusively to GUU members:


1) Whichever GUU member places the 100th bid in theauction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $250 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

2) Whichever GUU member places the 200th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $250 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

3) Whichever GUU member places the 500th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $500 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

4) Whichever GUU member places the 1,000th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $750 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

5) Whichever GUU member places the 1,500th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $1,000 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

6) Whichever GUU member places the 2,000th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $1,000 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

7) Whichever GUU member places the 2,500th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $1,000 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

8) Whichever GUU member places the 3,000th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $1,500 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

9) Whichever GUU member places the 3,500th OVERALL bid inthe auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and $1,500 OFFANYTHING purchased in this current Goldin auction.

10) Whichever GUU member places the 4,000th OVERALL bidin the auction will receive an email, a post of recognition on GUU and
$2,500 OFF ANYTHING purchased in this current Goldinauction.

Please note this offer expires Sunday, April 14, 2019 atapproximately 11:00 PM eastern. If any of the above referenced bids are notplaced by that time, the offer for those bids will go unclaimed as Goldin willnot be able to track bids past 11:00 PM eastern.

I think I'm going to have to ask dougiedshow and 5toolplayer for advice, I feel like they win discounts nearly every auction! Congrats!

I've won a few times over the years, here's what I do.

1) I look at the average interval between winning bids (you can see all of the previous threads on GUU).
2) I also watch for Ken to post if it's getting close to another prize.
3) I bid early and try for the smaller prizes as well. Some people wait until it gets closer to $500-$1000, but then you have more competition. I'll take $250
4) I bid on items I'm interested in, then I also place a few more "max bids" on the item, one at a time. Those seem to count as a bid and save you significant time as opposed to finding another item to bid on. Plus I'm bidding on items I really want, rather than a shotgun approach with a bunch of opening bids.
