I recently picked up this bat figuring that it was something that was ordered by him. It's 35'' and according to my primitive kitchen scale around 33 oz. It's also obviously knobless.

I then got to reading how he would sand and/or wipe down his barrels after any kind of contact, and curiously enough, that was the first thing that I noticed on the bat--that some of the finish was missing up high. I assumed that it was just age, but wanted to check with the people who know better than me

My first question is what would be its general age? Then, does this stand any chance of having been used by him? No number on the handle or pine tar, but neither seems to be make or break for this style, from what I have seen. It does have a finish on it, but as I said, it looks worn off in spots up around the barrel (as you can kinda see in the 2nd picture).

Depending on what it might be worth, probably not. It was sitting in a corner of an antique store.
