Had to LOL at this....
There are a few different 'tweaked' versions of McGwires glove in the 2 tone era.
Mac used a all black CMHC but popped his web. Tan was all that was around to fix it and he liked it so he had Bob Clevenhagen at Rawlings make all his gloves like that going forward. Mr Clevenhaged stated he and Griffey are responsible for the 2 tone glove trend.

Rawlings made a retail version of this glove stamped CMHCB2. It was made both in the USA (1998-2000) and also when production moved abroad and patterns were revamped (2000-2004). After this the pattern stayed but the color way changed. They made a few more later on for a signing, but it was similar to the retail version.

1 constant in the 2 tone era is the 'anchor' in the pocket. The tan leather wraps from the back of the shell into the palm. I've NEVER seen it on another glove and all i can imagine it is used for it to extend pocket life.

There is actually a new Japan remake of the mcgwire glove that HAS the anchor, but its made for rubber ball and thus is quite thin. More of a display.

Bob made pro issue/replica ones IDENTICAL to what Mac used on the field and these were made for display at Rawlings stores. Some have closed and have made it to the markey over the years. This was my collecting 'grail' last year and finally found one someone doctored to make look game used last year for UNDER $300(high bid). The auto glove cost me about $200 (high bid), and the retail USA goes for a few $ more than the overseas version but go between $175-$225.

Seller has a unused Mac bat as well, but Id imagine if you were a Rawlings employee during Macs heyday it wouldnt have been tough to ask for your own 'mcgwire glove' as the seller says thats where it came from. Bob would put dots after the players name to denote it wasnt a 'gamer' but in this case he didnt have to bc its just not even close. This is essentially a glove in the color way he used and someone embroidered his name on the thumb.

Id imagine a collector who knows the above info is the type of collector who would actually drop the crazy $$$ this guys is asking for a $200/$300 glove but ya never know so I figured I'd drop a heads up.
Obv not game used, but if anyone is like me in looking for the next best thing - a pro issue- THIS is not that glove!!! :)

Pics of mine to see the difference. There are plenty of game used pics from won auctions out there. These are the aforementioned gloves
