2001 Season Jersey, But Bobby Taylor was the player in that year, Ware enter in 2004 and the NFL equipment logo enter in 2002, this is a real game Jersey?

Perhaps the Eagles revamped their left over blank team issued jerseys from 2001 by simply sewing the newer NFL equipment logo shields over the old ones. I'm not very familiar with Eagles gamers but since the jerseys from 2001 were already made by Reebok, seems like the only thing they had to update were the NFL shields. I've had Seahawks game worn jersey and pants that were originally made from 2002-2007 prior to the NFL shields being updated to 8 stars and the Seahawks used them from 2008 till the Nike takeover by sewing the new updated NFL shields over the old ones. Maybe you could ask the seller to send a photo of the inside collar to see if you can decipher whether the newer shield was sewn over the old one.

Keep in mind that the tag simply states the size and the year it was made. To an equipment manager the only number that matters is the size. His job is to pull a blank out of stock in the correct size, hand it to the seamstress and have all of the correct identifiers put on, player specific modifications completed and have it ready for the game day.

As far as the shield, that too is typical. Chances are, if you turn the jersey inside out you will see the outline of the original, small 2001/2002 style tag. Teams were probably sent a box before the season and they simply sewn the new tag over the previous one.

Here are two examples; a pair of Nike pants that had the Reebok logo sewn over them and 2009 shield glued/sewn over the 2008 and older shield.

I can't say for sure without seeing it in hand, but there's a good chance that this is a 2001 issued jersey that was brought out of existing stock for 2004 use. This is not uncommon in the NFL, although some teams do this more than others. The tail tag for Reebok with the helmet logo was only used by Reebok in 2001, as well, although it would be left intact if used in a later year.

I have owned a jersey that was given to a #1 overall pick his rookie year but tagged 5 years earlier. The year just means the year the jersey was produced
