I have been watching the HA auction. My question is why would Ted hold on to a "Model" bat for two seasons? He was sent two bats 4/14/47 one was not returned and within 10 days had a new model(the returned bat) the w148 on 4/24/47 with a major order made 5/13/47. He then had the w153 made 6/3/48 with a scratched out entry on 5/20/48(model). On 7/20/47 says 'same as model sent to louisville' w155 discard. Then 8/20/48 w155 use this alone model sent in 8/18/48.

I don't believe he had this bat for such a long period. It goes against Ted's nature. He was Pro-active with Louisville as has been stated many times. Seems like he probably received the bat @ auction during the 1948 season and sometime after 5/18 and was returned 7/18.

I don't see much contact on the bat, could be pictures but I have looked very close and compared to the example I look at which you can almost count each individual ball mark. Which would also lead me to think this at was produced during the 1948 season for Ted. He only need two weeks to respond not two seasons. Are we thinking he kept the bat he did not like for over a year?

This is just my opinion and welcome any comments
