I know a good number here collect specific team sets of jerseys, bats, etc. for a particular era or year and did not see a thread for it (most being team threads). If anyone has team sets to share, please post.
And Tim B. did put together a nice article on this very topic here:
http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=66451

I have completed or nearly completed a few different ones, so thought I would start out with my '77/'78 New York Yankees bat collection. I kept it focused just on the key contributors from that team.

I collect jerseys of members of the 1979 Orioles team. I don't exclusively pursue 1979 jerseys as this would be quite daunting. It's kind of nice as some of the players overlap the 1970 and 1983 World Series teams.

Nice mix of O's jerseys! It seems like the only ones you see out there for the late 70's/early 80's era are Eddie Murray and an occasional Earl Weaver, right?

These are the only items in my collection that I consider even close to a team set. In 2015 the Royals set a team record for players voted as starters in the All-Star game. At the end of the voting four Royals were voted in as starters, including Alex Gordon who would be on the DL and was replaced as a started in the AS game. The others were Lorenzo Cain, Salvador Perez and Alcides Escobar. Two pitchers also joined the remaining starters. As a bonus Mike Moustakas won the overall final player vote.

In the end there were four Royals position players that got at bats in the 2015 AS game. I have two of the batting helmets that were worn in those at bats. Alcides Escobar went 1-3 with a run scored wearing one of the helmets I have. The other was worn by Mike Moustakas who struck out facing 100 mph fastballs from Aroldis Chapman. For both of these players it was their first AS game appearance. As a bonus these have been signed by the player and are double authenticated, once for game use and once for the autograph.

I have seen Lorenzo Cain's 2015 AS game helmet in the Royals Hall of Fame so I know that helmet is not available to the open market. As for Salvador Perez I have not been able to locate his 2015 AS game helmet. So at this time I am 90% sure I have every 2015 Royals AS game batting helmet that has been on the open market, thus making this as close as possible 2015 Royals ASG batting helmets team set.

The closest thing I have to what I'd call a team set.

Geovany Soto's game used Alternate jersey from Carlos Zambrano's No Hitter versus the Houston Astros on September 14th, 2008. Acquired directly from PCM Sports (Soto's exclusive game used dealer at the time) and MLB Authenticated as Team Issued - Player Collected on September 15th, 2008. Only Zambrano's jersey was authenticated as game used the night of the game.

Miguel Montero's game used Alternate jersey from Jake Arrieta's No-Hitter versus the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30th, 2015 (MLB Authenticated).

Another team I focus on is the 1998 Yankees, putting together a team set. I have a Bernie Williams 1998 World Series worn road jersey and pants...

Then for the '98 WS Champs, I just completed the roster of bats for the full team, with all but one being a bat specific to 1998, (that being for a player that played one game that season). It took awhile and was a definite challenge, but well worth it. This is a team that always falls within the top 3, top 5 lists of greatest teams of all time, wining 114 games in the regular season and then going 11 and 2 in the playoffs and World Series.

I have a few team sets, but it'll take me a while to get decent photos posted. So, I'll start with this one: the 1926 Cardinals, winners of the franchise's first World Series.

The Hornsby is a retail 125, a placeholder for now. He's followed by outfielder (and future HOF manager) Billy Southworth, third baseman Les Bell, and outfielder Taylor Douthit. The non-contract BELL could be an early Les Bell bat, but I'm attributing it to pitcher Hi Bell (it also could be a Cool Papa Bell, but we'll never know). Below it is another retail placeholder, a Bottomley. Based on my extensive research, the FR bat is likely Flint Rhem, the team's only 20-game winner. It's followed by outfielder Heinie Mueller and a hand-turned blank bat, attributed to outfielder Ray Blades. I bought the Blades bat from his family, along with his 1926 home jersey.

In addition to needing Hornsby and Bottomley gamers, I'm looking for a Tommy Thevenow and a Bob O'Farrell. Also interested in pitchers' bats. Please let me know if you have any leads.

Yes, interesting story about that. I was at an Evans signing last weekend and he was telling me about how the Louisville quality was horrible--inconsistent weights, handle diameters, breakage--which is why he switched to Worth. There weren't many options back then (LS and ADR, and then Worth) so they were trying anything.

Lou Whitaker made a comment at a signing a few months ago when someone said they didn't know he used Worth--"I used everything especially when it was free!"

I did Dave. Hardest White Sox bat in the 21 player set. I believe he ordered 12 or 21 LS White Sox bats.
