The mets last won both the Division and the NL championships in 1986. Their 2000 NL pennant came as a wild card. So this is a fitting decision.

The Class A Columbia SC Mets also won their league pennant in 1986. This year, the Mets announced in May they'd be returning to Columbia for 2016 in a new minor-league stadium walking distance from my home. So go Mets!

The Mets script on the throwback looks too thick compared to the original below. It is a shame nobody can recreate a faithful Mets script anymore. Rawlings was the best. The 1986 was actually done by Goodman.
