Phillies Clubhouse Sale

Phillies Collectors,

I follow Phillies Authentics on twitter and they have been showing off some of the stuff they are selling at the clubhouse sale this upcoming Saturday. I live up here in PA and was thinking about making the drive to go check it out. Is it usually any good? Are the prices reasonable?

I have never attended this day of the sale. I have been a regular attendee of the sale that was held this year on December 5th. I believe it tends to be the Section 133 stuff at reduced prices. They also will have some other oddball items. If I find anything else out, I will let you know. I am assuming you saw on the Twitter feed that they will have game used baseballs for $12, which is a great price if you collect those.

I usually go to it. It's hit or miss and depends on what kind of stuff you are looking for. Last year I bought 3 foul balls for $12 each, Jeff Mathis used bat, a large piece of turf from the Vet, Brian Schneider helmet, and a few brand new Bud Selig baseballs for autographs.

Don't expect to find cheap Franco and Nola game used jerseys. Also people get there very early.

I tried to copy and paste some info I had after last year's sale. As you can see, I did not think it was that great. It never hurts to try, but I hope this can give you a better idea. It may be confusing so if you need any clarity, please let me know.

I did attend this sale and thought it was better than I expected for some of the pricing. They had some game used jerseys that ranged from $24.99 (mainly coaches) to $249.99 (Papelbon). The bigger name jerseys were Papelbon at $249.99, Marlon Byrd at $149.99, and Domonic Brown was $99.99. These were the home/road/alternate type of jerseys. They did NOT have Utley, Rollins, Lee, Halladay, Sandberg, etc. for jerseys. Some of the coaches were $24.99 and this included Camo and Stars and Stripes jerseys, which I thought was a pretty good deal. They had lineup cards that mainly were either $39.99 or $49.99. They had game used bats, hats, banners, baseballs, bases, etc. They also had nameplates at $4.99. They had the game model unsigned bats of Ryne Sandberg and Richie Ashburn for $49.99. They also had some yearbooks that ranged in price from $1 to $10, photo cards for $1, veteran stadium turf, garbage cans, chairs, stadium signage, etc.

I was farther back in line so I did not get to see some of the better stuff. Did anybody else go? What was your opinion of it?

I do not remember seeing him or it may have already been sold. The last 2013 game worn jersey available was a Mauricio Robles Home Jersey, which I had bought based on price. A couple others were crossed off, but I am not sure if Martinez was one of them.
