I 'd like to start a new thread called ThrowBack Tues (TBT) and post ads of yesteryear (if you want to consider the 90's yesteryear.

Back in the late 90's a Gehrig gamer could have been yours for 19K and a Babe Ruth gamer for a mere 16K!

This year a newly discovered Gehrig gamer from that same era sold for little over 436k. (not an HB though but a Hanna Batrite) and Goldin sold a 1929-30 Ruth gamer for 177K

Here is this weeks entry.

This shows why HB vintage major stars and HOF bats will always be a good investment.

Little behind here so will do one 1 day before Tuesday.

The autograph fees back in 1992 seem like a bargain today!

Obligatory GU TBT post.

Check out the prices on the Sosa bats in 1998-99. Oh how the mighty have fallen. For the price of one Sosa during that time you could have gotten the Brett, Fisk, Carter, Puckett, and future HOFer Thome!

Surprised, those look low for Mays and Mantle, even from back then. I had thought Mays especially was an early adopter of jacking up the prices, at least on bats? Maybe that was in the late 90s...

Yes Ben. Here's a show 3 years later. Check out the price for Willie Mays for bats. Mantle didn't sign bats for the longest time and then start charging upwards of 1200 to sign bats towards the mid 90's. The Mick didn't make this show as he passed away early Aug 13th.

I stopped going to autograph shows regularly after the Mick passed away.
