Hi, 1950-1960 is there any records showing who an S2 Mathews 34" and 34 oz. was shipped to? Team index, Baseball Misc. etc. I know it was not ordered by Mathews himself.

Hi George--

You are correct in that no orders of 34 inch Model S2 bats were shipped to Mathews during the 1950-1960 label period. Unfortunately, the H & B factory records of the period only show the orders shipped to the individual player. The ability to see where other signature model bats of a specific player were shipped did not exist until H & B computerized their shipping records in mid-1981. If the bat is a professional model, most likely it was ordered by the Braves as part of an assorted team order of bats made available to any Major or Minor league player in the organization. After a review of Mathew's ordering patterns of the period, it is highly unlikely that he used the 34 inch Model S2.
