1977 Don Kessinger White Sox jersey

I'm new to the forum so hello. My name is Ricky I go by zrickkid on this forum. I recently acquired this White Sox road jersey. I'm assuming it was from 1977 b

ecause Don wore this number for one season and that was 1977. It is a thicker material. Not the mesh type. It is a Rawlings jersey and is size 42. Now I know Don wore size 40 earlier in his career so I'm assuming 42 is not out of range as he got older. The question I have is that the numeral font is a little more squared off than any other Sox shirt I have seen. So my question is that being said is this a game or team issued jersey. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless I saw it as a game photo, I'd not accept that number font as being proper. It looks like someone grabbed a 1976 jersey for this piece, as most '77s and '78's were flag tagged in the collar, but very few '76's were. Being on a shoestring budget, the Sox used the '76 unies with some degree of frequency in '77 and '78, also.

Jersey looks "off". Letters and numbers look too large on both front and back, and the length of the jersey looks too short.
