Hey guys Im new to the forum...Great Site!
I recently acquired a 2004 Eli Rookie Issued Jersey. I am a collector of Giants Game worn jerseys. Now my questions are as follows....I am a NYG expert....but looking at this jersey...there are 4 (2 on each side) diagonal strips on the front and back. I don't recall Eli wearing a jersey like this. Its next to the nameplate on both sides...See the pics....Also the tag says 4lb..i tought it should say 2lb....otherwise it looks good. I was told it was from b and e collectables and this person bought it before they sold it. He said he paid over 900 for it. Now my thoughts are this jersey could have been made for rookie camp etc.....cant wait to hear your thoughts.....thanks

Based on pictures from that year, the jersey style is wrong for Eli.

Yes that's my findings also but everything else checks out as genuine..could it be an issued jersey maybe during Minicamps or preseason ?

Looks like a blank jersey someone customized into a Manning jersey.

The length is correct it's just the style that I'm questioning...? Otherwise it looks legit.....

Here are a couple of links that might help you out:

http://nypost.com/2014/01/30/eli-and-giants-created-fake-memorabilia-suit/

I'd like to state that I know very little about the construction of football jerseys but there seems to be some significant difference in the should portion of the Strahan versus the Manning. I also don't know of any follow ups to the NYP article.

I'm sorry. But even the "G" on yours looks like a hack job.
These 3 pics are from past auctions. All legit

I saw the jersey when it was on eBay. I just happened to have recorded a Giants game the was the first Eli-Rothlisberger match up that year. I also looked at Getty images from Eli's rookie year and noticed the jersey panel difference and did not bite. The basic price that you got was a good price for a jersey to wear but the shipping prices that the auctioneer sets are the catch. I would have bought it (to wear) for the agreed offer accepted but that shipping charge blew the deal out of the water for me.

As stated by other members the game used aspect was misstated. I have contacted the seller directly regarding an item that he has listed now and I do not believe that he misrepresented the Eli knowingly. I believe that he still thinks that the jersey is 100% legit (as he complained that you got a great deal and he feels that he undersold the item to you). I did not let him know about my opinion of the Eli jerseys legitimacy.

Let me know if you want to sell for the price you paid without the excessive delivery charge.

Coach V, so u spoke to him? I believe also he thinks it is legit and he wanted to send me a partial refund but now refuses to do it. So I will get a full refund and ship it back to him. As a seller he should have better customer service skills when there's a problem. Plus I had it checked in east rutherford it's 100% not issued or worn.

We actually corresponded via text. He has his cell number on his listings. Good luck with the refund. If he is a stand up guy, you should be able to return without issue. Update the string if things work out. It is always good to hear about collectors that step up and do the right thing.

Glad you are able to return it.

Always pay via paypal with a credit card.

I opened a return case cause he doesn't accept returns I had until today then ebay Will escalate the case but now he opened a case they closed mine and ebay will answer within 48 hrs...all he responded was that he has no proof that it's fake. And he's sick of being bothered. Not a very stand up seller.

EBay decided in my favor...refund issued as soon as I ship back and send tracking info. Hopefully this gentleman can go after his friend and get his money back. Thanks to all!
