Did you guys see this bat, pretty awesome! Wouldn't mind adding that to the collection.

That was a sweet stick. Plus, he hit a single, double, and HR with it. His 25th HR and 60th Rbi. Exactly the half way mark today. So he's on pace for 50. Best hitter in baseball in the first half. Not bad for a 22 year old!

What you us think it's worth? I'm guessing it might show up at MLB auctions??

Several thousand I'd imagine. MLB auctions has a Harper HR ball that's already at just under 1k.

Very cool, but unfortunately very very illegal. Great advertising for Chandler though.

That was my thought -- that finish is not legal. Wonder if there was some kind of waiver, like there is for pink bats. Would have been fun to see the HR overturned on the basis of the finish and Harper charging from the dugout like Brett...

The bat is worth whatever people will pay for it.
That's what all our game used stuff is worth.

Apparently Harper admitted that it was not approved. Amazing that the umpires said nothing, he used it the whole game.

I don't think anybody cares except MLB because they didn't get any money out of it. I am sure MLB will let it slide though because it was already a game filled with funky looks...that and the fact no one had special rights to making bats like that(think LS with the pink bats years back).

Though MLB may need to clamp down on this next year. Start allowing crazy bats like that and the league turns into a circus. Let's just stick to the pink bat occasion and call it good.

Bryce had the bat custom painted along with a camo bat he was going to take with him on his Japan series over the Winter but ended up not going.

Does this open up a marketing opportunity for MLB like the pink bats on Mothers Day where they allow a star-spangled bat on Independence Day and Memorial Day?

The fact it wasn't approved and illegal will certainly add to the story of the bat. Harper said he didn't care if He got in trouble for using it. With all the attention the bat is getting it will be interesting to see if it makes it way to the public. It's probably a 10k bat at this point imo.

He keeps almost all of his bats. In fact, when he hit the 3 HRs in 1 game earlier this year and then hit a few more the next few after that for a total of 7 HRs with that same Chandler bat, it was actually one of his 2014 bats he pulled out and was a Chandler CU7 model.

I've seen him use 3 different bats in 1 game and change up with no batting gloves, 1 batting glove, etc.

I think that bat would fetch $15,000 easily if it ever was made available.

Umpires probably assumed it was approved for this one game, like the pink bats, because everybody knew it was illegal including the announcers of the game.

I agree that it's probably a 10-15k bat. I also agree that Harper keeps a lot of his stuff. There's just not a lot of his stuff out there, compared to most of the big name players right now. Lots of Trout and Miggy gamers out there. I think it started right from his debut when they tried to auction his first/debut jersey off and he got that one back, didn't he?

What does Harper do with his bats?

He keeps almost every bat and has gives some to fans and charity auctions. We got one of his "game issued" to auction off for a camp we were doing for one of Bryce's teammates.
