The following items in the current Vintage auction

November 12 2005 at 10:47 AM Dave (djob0001@yahoo.com) (Login CollectGU (http://www.network54.com/Profile/CollectGU))

have been questioned by this forum in different threads over the past three weeks. All have ben authenticated by MEARS:

Lot 29 - McGwire
Lot 18 - Pujols
Lot 45 - Varitek
Lot 23 - Griffey
Lot 530 - Jordan

Why haven't we heard from (FORUM MEMBERS) more often on these items? Why isn't (THE FORUM) continually pounding on Bushing an Troy about these? This is what I mean when I say that this board is not fair and balanced...Their criticism of Lou and AMI is disproportionate to their criticism of MEARS and Vintage. Where is the outrage day in and day out? (**THIS POSTING HAS BEEN RE-WRITTEN REMOVING THE UNFOUNDED ACCUSATIONS ABOUT INDIVIDUALS AND PRESERVING THE POSTER'S OPINION)

I agree...but

I agree with you Dave, but let's concentrate on the items and not on the personalities. I think, you can add to the list Lelands and HuntAuctions. They provide no information regarding their requirements as to authenticity. I bought a few items from Lelands and had to beg them for a LOA, which was cursory at best. No description, no backup information, nothing of substance. In fact, they said that the paid invoice was sufficient to prove that the item was authenticate. Yeah, sure.

Sorry, I guess I don't understand how it isn't fair.

I've looked back at the posts, and one of the posts was actually started by Howard.

Howard has talked about both the Griffey and the Big Mac items. I haven't checked on the others, but perhaps he has included posts on those items as well.

my post edited? What did I do that needed editing? Why can't I use names. And changing it to "Forum members" changes the whole context of the post.....

It was edited because you cannot make a accusatory post where you make conclusions about others based on where you're guessing people might be consigning. Seems a bit flimsy.
