Just like some others opinion on this one as the description says, shows good use but yet the lettering and numbers are in perfect condition. Mears took off a half point for a frayed Wilson tag? Thanks, Todd.

Size and tag locations are right. Figures to be team-issued, at least. I'd have to have it in hand to discern wear.

Thanks for the information Dave. I have never heard a jersey described as having lots of wear, with the numbering and lettering showing little if any. Could this one have been in the minors and done back up to return to Brett status?

It's possible, although I've come across very few 1970s Royals road knits with minor league changes.

Thanks for the picture.. The name spacing is not the same for sure as the one at auction.

Dave.. When I was in LA working out years ago pre training camp, the Royals scouts, along with other teams, ran games for pro players. They would give out jerseys for each player and they were old game used jerseys for sure. They had no names on them at all.

Todd:

The Royals didn't begin using NOBs on the MLB level until 1978, so the time you were there would be a key.

Also, while Brett obviously wore it, that road jersey in the photo employs a NOB font that is different from most Wilson-issued Royals jerseys in the 1978-86 range. It was likely something put together for him on short noice, but not the norm as far as the NOB font is concerned. I'm gonna enter that photo in my files, just as proof in the event that jersey ever turns up in my mailbox.
