Hi, I need some help identifying a bat. This is a cracked game used bat. It's an Old Hickory Pro Model Bat.
Model is 34.0 Pro Maple AW10 1401195-AW5 Has a facsimile Signature. AW in marker on the knob.
Don't know what team or where it was gotten.
Thank you

I'm not sure why it is funny that it's not Adam wainwright and I was pretty sure it wasn't Andy Warhol. I appreciate all the help, maybe it Andy Williams or Abe Watner.

Seriously, it looks me like A-something Flores. There was an Alejandro Flores playing with the GCL Braves last year. Where the bat was obtained might be a clue.

Wait a minute - I forgot about the initials on the knob. Never mind - I've had a long day and I'm tired.

Anyway, like I said, knowing where the bat came from might be very helpful.

Sorry for losing my sense of humor. I bought it with a whole bunch of game used cracked bats at the local flea market. The guy I bought it from had originally bought it thinking it was wainwright, (I think he actually might have put it on eBay thinking it was and that's how he found out it wasnt wainwright) anyway I got it for about 10. He gets his stuff from auctions, so there's not much trail. None of the other bats were related other than they were baseball players and had been game used. It does have a twin. Figuring this stuff out is what makes it fun. Who knows maybe Andy Warhol had some bats made

Wondering if maybe its a minor league bat?

I think it is. There were a couple of major league. The rest were guys that had bounced back and forth between major and minor. The signature model is pretty steep for a minor league guy. They buy their own bats. If he is minor, he probably got pretty decent money. I wonder if old hickory may keep records and would give it out?

Not sure how much help it is but the bat was made in Jan. of 2014, the batch # is 195, was the 5th bat made in the batch and his initials are AW

I know exactly what you mean - it's fun doing a little detective work on something like this, and I have done the same sort of thing, myself. At least you have got the "AW" thing to work with - that's less than I sometimes have. I've got quite a few old Phoenix Firebirds team bats, and I've managed to connect one with Bill Mueller, two with Marcus Jensen and on with Mark Leonard, just from the odd number marking or illegible signature.

If I'm reading the manufacture date on this O.H. correctly, it's November of 2014. To me, that means only one thing - ST 2015. If it were my bat, I would first compile the 2015 ST rosters of every MLB team, including of course non-roster invitees, and scan them for the initials "AW". If that doesn't pan out, try finding minor league ST rosters - good luck with that - or start checking 2014 minor league rosters beginning with Triple-A. I know it sounds incredibly tedious, and a lot of guys would say, "Why go to all that trouble to i.d. a ten-dollar bat?" Hey, as far as I'm concerned, that's what makes it a hobby.

I wonder if BMH knows his opposite number over at O.H. and could be on any help.

You're right, of course, I misread the date - so make that ST of 2014.

I don't know if this may help...I was curious and I downloaded from the site checkoutmycards a list of players with the AW initials both major and minor League players. Here's the list.
