Peyton Manning 1998-99 Rookie/2nd year Indianapolis Colts Helmet

Are there any knowledgeable Peyton Manning Colts collectors who know how many helmets Peyton Manning wore in his rookie season and 2nd year? There is one listed in an upcoming Huggins and Scott auction starting at the end of this month. Just wanted to find more info on this helmet. Auction states it was worn in his 1998-99 seasons. Pics are going to be very big for observation purposes. Does it look good?

After spending a few minutes searching through 1998 and 1999 photos i think we can rule out 1998 for sure and i just do not see anything close in any game photos that match up for 1999.

Your right, I keep finding a Riddell helmet with plastic rivets on the sides of the helmet in both years.

A “BB” sticker inside the club logo was worn on the rear of helmets for the 1999 season.

I agree with your observations, as well. I keep seeing the "rivets" that are noted in the earlier post

The problem with this being designated as "1999" is that the American flag decal was not assigned to helmets until 2001
