Hi Folks, seems to be a lot of Buckner topics on here. I purchased a game used K55 bat of his recently and was trying to determine a year if possible. The bat is 35" long and weighs approximately 33-34 ounces. Buckner apparently slammed this bat on the dugout, so not sure if any wood was lost.

Unfortunately there is little if any way to be more specific in dating this bat, other than to narrow it down to 1973 - 1975. During those Dodger years (and most of his career) model K55 was Buckner's model of choice, with 13 K55's ordered in 1973, approximately 138 ordered in 1974, and approximately 126 in 1975. In each of those years, Buckner did not change from a 35-inch length; prior to 1973 he most frequently used a 34.5- inch length. The bat also appears in the photo to have a slight Flamed Burned finish. If that is accurate, the majority of his orders were FB finish in 1975, however a few FB finish bats were ordered during 1973 and 1974. Regarding the weight of the bat, Buckner was pretty consistent at 34 ounces, with only a very few random orders during that period.
