What happens to Super Bowl footballs used during a game? Like the football that was intercepted by Butler to seal the Patriots win. In baseball a player frequently gets to keep the ball he hit for his first hit, or a record number hit, say 2,000 (providing they aren't home runs) or the last out of a game by a pitcher. Would Butler get to keep the ball he intercepted or would any player get to keep the ball from an important play?

The balls belong to the organization. They in turn give the balls out to the players & staff after the game. Each team is provided 108 Super Bowl marked footballs. 54 for practice and 54 for the game.

That is correct, but I've seen several instances in the past where players have kept notable touchdown balls they got TDs with. In Super Bowl 20, when the Bears demolished the Pats 46-10, one of the Bears scores was a defensive TD by a backup defensive player, Henry Waechter. It was his first TD ever, and I recall watching him cradle the ball and carry it off the field after the score.
