The seller describes it as "THIS IS A 1983 WORLD CHAMPIONS PETE ROSE GAME READY JERSEY. THE JERSEY IS A BLUE WILSON SIZE 42. THE JERSEY HAS THE BLUE PLASTIC ZIPPER AND THE SATIN COLLAR. THE JERSEY IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO SERIOUS WEAR. THIS JERSEY IS FROM THE YEAR THE PHILLIES MADE IT TO THE WORLD SERIES"

Folks, this could not be further from a "game ready" jersey if you tried!

1. The Wilson tag is in the collar-it should be in the tail, directly below the year tag.

2. The size is incorrect for Rose. It is size 42, however, Rose wore a 44.

3. The name ROSE should be stitched in the collar.

4. The name ROSE should be on a plate above the back numbers.

5. The numbers are positioned too high on back.

6. The left sleeve should have the Phillies 100th anniversary patch.

I have emiled the seller, however, not heard back.

Howard,
Since you've seen so many Phils jerseys in your time, where do you think jerseys like the Rose on ebay come from?

Mike-
When I purchased all of my jerseys directly from the Phillies (over 1,000 total), they had a bundle of jerseys similar to these that were used for their various minor league teams. ALL of the Phillies minor league team dressed exactly like the parent team, however, often had no names on back or a generic PHILLIES nameplate attached. In this case, it appears there was not room for a plate.

The shame with this shirt is the fact the seller is making it appear it's a Rose gamer when it is actually just a minor league, #14 jersey.
