I just picked up a 2006 D'arby Myers GCL Phillies Game Used Jersey, which will be autographed by him in March of 2007 as well! D'arby was drafted last year out of highschool by the Phillies and is projected to be a very toolsy player. Very raw though. Pics to follow soon!

Now I have Adrian cardenas, Kyle Drabek and D'arby Myers GCL Phillies GU jerseys! Hopefully they all make the show. I am going to have fun following them throughout their minor league career at the very least!

Nice to hear from you! Around two dozen, I'm a huge Red Sox fan so all are Red Sox bats except one, last month I picked up my first Manny Indians gamer, a natural LVS with an early Manny autograph. I seen that bat on Taubes website and have looked for photos from the 1995 World Series of Manny and cant find any of him batting. Hows your collection going? I know you have some really nice bats of various all star players, did you add to your collection lately?

I picked up a really nice Arod from 2005 and a Junior Griffey. Thats an awesome Manny Indians bat, you know what year thats from? You ever decide to sell a Manny M9 let me know, I traded the one I had. You have the most impressive collection of Manny bats I have ever seen. Pick up any new Vladdy M9's? I would love to see more photos of your collection if you have any pics laying around on your computer and you have any extra time could you email me some of your favorites.

I use to be a ramdom buyer like you but over the years I have focused on players from my home town (Louisville KY) and the Atlanta Braves, Cinncy Reds and St. Louis Cardinals. I do have a few other team jerseys but I use those as trade bait.
Just a thought, by the way why is a high school boy on this forum on a Friday night is the night life in Atlanta that bad:confused: :confused: :confused:

I picked up a signed Vlad two-tone M9 last year thats hammered with use and it has some of the deepest seam marks I've ever seen on a bat. I send some photos out to you later. Those are some nice Arod bats and GriffeyJr.

No photos yet, as it just arrived today, but I recently picked up the 1986 style TBTC pants that Chris Woodward wore in the 8/19/2006 and 8/20/2006 20th Anniversary games. I purposely went after these because I already have his jersey from those 2 games and the nameplate that hung over his locker.
All I need now is the cap & I'm ready to do a nice display...

Hello! Finally got my recent pick-up from eBay. It was one of the few Astros style jerseys I needed for my collection. It was a 2004 TBTC July 4th Rainbow Jersey. A seller had one on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Here is how the Astros handled these in 2004 - Astros team representatives went around the stadium and randomly picked out 32 individuals. After the game, those 32 people went on the field. By this time, every player and coach has gone into the clubhouse, taken off their jersey, signed it, and then placed it in a brown paper bag. The Astros reps collect the jerseys and place each bag randomly along the 1st or 3rd Base line. The fans then one-by-one get to pick a bag. Isn't that cool - a game worn and signed jersey for FREE! The person I bought this from was the lucky winner of future HOFer and All-Star, Jeff Kent. Unfortunately, Jeff didn't play in the game, but was wearing the jersey in the dugout. I was more interested in the style as the Rainbow was my favorite growing up while watching the 'Stros in the 80s. Anyway, here are a few pics of the jersey and a photo from the game showing the front and back of this style. I am happy!

Yes, they're all MLB Authenticated. The one on the Giles jersey isn't in the database yet though. The Darryle Ward was the other one that I wanted badly (it's the only Braves jersey I've found of his so far) but I'm broke now :(

My newest addition is a hand-turned 1907/08 Spalding Autograph Model Ty Cobb bat. The measurements (34.5" and 38 oz) are perfect for a professional model Cobb bat and I am planning on having it authenticated as such. As far as I know, this bat is one of only FOUR hand-turned Spalding Cobb models. Enjoy!

I was excited to pick up this lot from my favorite current Cub at last weekend's Cubs Convention...Michael Barrett's catchers gear from last season. The mask is signed, and Barrett's name is embroidered on the chest protector. I've already photo matched the gear to numerous home and road games last season. If anyone can help me locate a game used Wilson Michael Barrett glove, I'd appreciate it!

Picked up a 2006 David Ortiz Rawlings game used bat with ball/seam marks, cleat marks, weighted donut impression and pine tar that's still tacky. Looks like a late season bat of Ortiz.

I can't believe this! I was looking at some 2006 David Ortiz photos that I saved and think I found a photo match.

The game photo of Ortiz hitting a double is from 9-29-06 vs Orioles.

I made the last two photos larger and brighter.

I found three clear matches on the bat:

The cleat marks on the left barrel area, the tar less area just below the silver ring and the dark pine tar on the lower handle (made darker from the black palm area of his leather batting gloves)

Let me know what you guys think, I'll be posting the pics on the photo matched thread.

Kylehess gave me some great suggestions on photomatching this bat with pictures and game film. I got the bat after the game on Sept 20th as a HR bat and finally the MLB #'d hologram confirmed it. Zim hit his 19th HR/99th RBI with the bat in the 1st inning and then cracked it in the 4th inning on a single to left field.

Maybe these pickups weren't too recent, but the Braves locker nameplates reminded me of them. I purchased a large lot of locker nameplates that were used from the old Seattle Kingdome basically just to get the Ripken, but have since gotten a few autographed and they do display nicely.

Here's a couple of my recent pickups:
-Don Mattingly Cooper Pro C141 (good use with taped handle with good tar,handle crack,2 good ball marks,seam and rack marks...34 inch 32 oz. correct for Mattingly)
-Jonny Gomes Rawlings Big Stick (model M433B,made in '03...Gomes only had 15 ABs in 8 games with the '03 Rays,so could be a Minor League bat,but HAMMERED with use including heavy tar,ball,rack and seam marks.So much use that the "Big Stick Jonny Gomes Professional Model" stamp has come completely off,leaving just the engraving!)
-Jason Giambi A's helmet with team LOA
