Based on the date code I'd say it was Trot Nixon. He wore #7 from '96-'06 for Boston and was a LH batter.

A question please? What do you make of those stains on the Godfrey? They don't look like dirt or mud to me.
I ask because I have a Falcons jersey with similar stains all over the back only, from a game on artificial grass (so it's not mud on mine) and I can't decide what the stains are and if I should try to remove them. I sorta think mine are Gatorade but the Falcons lost the game so I don't think there were any Gatorade drenchings. I am leaning toward the stains on mine being from a storage issue but I can be convinced otherwise.

I would think it is the exact opposite. If he was wearing the jersey, I wouldn't think it would soak through the jersey because his body is in between. But if it was spilled on the jersey while not being worn, it would soak right through. But what the hell do I know....Either way, sweet jersey!

A lineup card from the 4/10/00 game between the Dayton Dragons and Michigan Battle Cats. The card is signed by many players on each team, including an early style autograph from a 20 year old Adam Dunn. I recognize a lot of names from each team but still need to do more research on the piece.

An update on a very recent pickup, Jim Rice 70s bat....corked. In looking at how the uni number is written in thick marker, it's obvious there was hope of disguising the drilled area.
It looks to be a vile of some kind possibly?;)

Ted Williams '55-'57 bat - H&B W183 model

The bat dates to '55-'57, with this particular center brand defect variation dating mostly to '55 specifically. It has remnants of a painted on 9 on the knob, along with a very heavy coat of a rosin and olive oil mixture on the entire handle, not tar actually. The bat boy from that time period would talk of putting this mixture together to apply to the bat and it then built up to look like this over an extended period of time. Williams would then have it removed from the lower handle to keep the right feel to the bat, extend the use, etc. There are clear and definite marks on the handle grip area where the bat boy used a knife to remove the substance. The use is terrific and I really love the look and patina of it. This bat ranks right up there among my favorites...

I recently picked up Yorman Rodriguez's MLB debut jersey which was MLB authenticated as such and also used in other games as well. Some loose threads also match up to his first MLB career hit as well.

The Yorman Rodriguez bat was cracked during his 2nd career RBI and looks to match up to numerous games and previous at bats. For years he has been known to have crazy potential and tools, hopefully this is just the start!

As a huge Astros fan, I was at the 2004 playoff games in Atlanta, including the last one where the Astros won their first playoff series ever. I've been looking for a 2004 signed ball, so this is a perfect start.

A lineup card from the 4/10/00 game between the Dayton Dragons and Michigan Battle Cats. The card is signed by many players on each team, including an early style autograph from a 20 year old Adam Dunn. I recognize a lot of names from each team but still need to do more research on the piece.


I'm glad they were able to fit your collection. I was able to use those funds to finally add my Diamondbacks bat. Shows a lot of use. Possible it was a gamer but hard to tell. It does have 32 written in the cup of the barrel but I didn't take a pick of that.

Due to my narrow mindedness I never would have thought that bowling game used items would be collectible. After seeing this I can't help but think ,WOW....what a great item. Congrats on your pick up.

I was able to buy one of the few P72 Louisville Slugger Bats and I was able to get it signed by Derek in his last signing . I do have one question tho . I noticed that it did not have the underlined 125 like the others i have ordered before . Did i luck out ? Usually I see it underlined . Any help would be great :o

I've competed in some PBA regionals and traded balls with Walter Ray, Dave D'entremont and Bob Learn. I still have a bright pink El Nino given to me by Chris Hooper when he was on storm staff. Nice pickup!

David, I noticed recently that on the cover of his 1987 biography (hard cover), Tim McCarver is posing with a Hearn bat. Hard to tell in a small photo, but on my copy, I can definitely read Ed's name. Wouldn't shock me if that was Ed's mitt, too.

Riley Cooper Game-Worn Jersey worn this past Sunday, where the Eagles beat the Giants 27-0. Cooper had 5 catches for 59 Yards. Glad to complete a set with my latest pickup. Zoilo Almonte's jersey and pants from Mariano Rivera's final game on September 26, 2013. I already had his hat from the game, so very happy to put everything together.

Interesting part, the jersey is dated 2011 and would possibly have been issued to Jesus Montero. It shows minimal use as pretty obvious it was used in one game only.

The pants show nice use and have numbers in the waist blacked out a couple times.

I have not posted in some time both of these items were picked up back in the summer a very nice Brooks Robinson gamer from what may have been a WS year in 1970 and I was able to reacquire this fantastic Ripken which I was forced to sell several years ago and I never thought I would see it again. It came originally from another forum member with a very cool story on how it was originally acquired after BP from Cal directly in his rookie of the year season in 1982.

Very happy to be able to add both into my collection.

Goes down as the weirdest item I've ever purchased, but after kicking tires on these for last couple months I pulled trigger for a really nice price...2007 Texas Bowl "Gift" customized for then Freshman QB of TCU, Texas Bowl MVP Andy Dalton. The Texas Bowl custom boots were voted by SI as the most "outrageous" Bowl Game gift for the 2007 Bowl Series.

A few other pickups from earlier this year that I never had time to post. A very cool Boog Powell gamer attributed to his 1970 AL MVP season and Orioles 2nd World Series victory that was originally sourced through a Yankees visiting team bat boy with a full LOA. This bat was obtained from the collection of another forum member (thanks Ben) and was signed in Baltimore back in June.

The second bat is another Ripken that I never thought I would see again. I was forced to sell several years back again to another forum member who made me a promise if he ever decided to sell he would give me 1st dibs. True to his word again (thanks Nick) I was able to obtain this back again very early this year. It was originally sourced through the collection of Dave Bushing some years ago. One of the earliest known Ripken bats a 1981 Rochester Redwings bat that there was an authentication glitch on when originally authenticated by MEARS some years back. I shipped it back to Troy at MEARS and he graciously fixed the errors and regraded the bat a A9.5. A tremendous example of a very early career minor league Ripken bat.

Very happy to have re-obtained that Ripken and for the opportunity to pick up a fantastic Boog Powell gamer.
