Dwight Evans 77-79

Hi Guys,

New subscriber to the site but love what I've been reading the last few months. Any info on Dwight Evans details from 77-79? Trying to confirm P84 or P89 (can't read my scan), C263, or S44 weights and measures. Thanks in advance for any info you might have.

Here's the info you are looking for relative to Dwight Evan's H & B factory records for the 1977-1979 label period:

P84 -Ten separate orders covering all three years. !977 and 1978 orders were all 34 1/2" / 33 to 35 oz. The single order in 1979 was 34" / 34 oz. All orders were Natural Finish and double lacquer. Total P84 bats in this label period were 1977- 36 bats; 1978- 45 bats; 1979- 6 bats.

P89- Two orders in 1977 . Six bats were 34 1/2" / 33 oz and six bats were 35" / 34 oz. Both orders specified Natural finish and double lacquer. No orders of P89 are documented in either 1978 or 1979.

C263- Fifteen orders of C263 in 1978 and 1979 only. All orders were 34 1/2" / 33 to 35 oz with the exception of one order in 1978 that was 35" / 35 oz. all orders in 1978 (72 bats) were Natural Finish and double lacquer. All orders in 1979 (42 bats) were Galen Finish with wide grain with the exception of one order (3 bats) which was Wax Finish. Also, two of the 1979 Galen Finish orders had cupped ends (18 bats).

S44- Two orders in 1979 only totaling 18 bats. All were 34" / 33 oz with a Wax Finish.

As an aside, other models ordered by Dwight Evans during this label period include R43 (1977), E45 (1979), and E46 (1979).
