A. I've held 4 bona fide McNair gamers. They were all size 54.

B. I went thru Getty Images and could not find ANY photo of a nameplate placement such as this jersey exhibits.

Definitely too much wrong with this jersey to even look twice at. But for what it's worth I know Mc9 did have different sizes at different points due to him having worn extra padding and equipment when he had the sternum injury and other various upper body injuries, but my two better McNair gamers are both 54, as previously stated by the Doc. I have what is likely an issued one because it's size 46 but has very minimal wear but it looks great as more of a signed piece for my collection, plus I got it for a great price and it has the full Mc9 signature.

Mile High Card Co did as well to be fair.

Correct. How any authenticator could pass that jersey is shocking.

It is very shocking to be honest. I am no expert authenticator and do not claim to be. Anyone who works as an authenticator should at least have the basics down. The basics are pretty obvious on this one.

I wonder why the guys at Gray Flannel and Mile High who are the "professionals" cannot see what we see ?

OR

Do they ?

To my knowledge, due to a sternum and back injury during the 2004 season
Mcnair started wearing a size 54 to support some additional padding.

But he did not exclusively wear size 54 his whole career.
Nevertheless the jersey on ebay is absolutely horrible. And has been listed for an extremely long time now. Unbelievable how it could have passed authentication.

I've always had the impression that Mile High is a solid sports card dealer who's in over their heads in game used collectibles. They've had bad auction items before, but I think it's a matter of poor researching and dubious authenticating, not a purposeful attempt to commit fraud. If they start employing a truly knowledgeable authenticator, these problems should be reduced drastically.
